Romanticizing Farmers: Has it become an easy virtue signalling route?

Majority of developed countries have hardly 5% of their population as farmers. In India 60% are into it, when probably 15% would suffice. The remaining 60-15 = 45% population could potentially be motivated into small entrepreneur setups, like farm produce processing or service sectors etc. This may look evil and cold to some when we urban folks ask them to quit agriculture. But then it is the only economically feasible solution. Indian economic generation follows pareto principle where 80% of Indian Tax is generated by 20% of its population. The 60% population of farmers hardly generate any tax, but are demanding farm loan waivers Free Education Free schooling Free water free electricity.

Of course am FOR Farming and of course am FOR farmers, but having 60% farmers is way too much in a over-populated country like ours. Its unfortunate that nobody sees this as an in-efficient use of country's human resources.

Opening up the market will ensure, our youth do not get confused by the hoax of higher education degrees and PhD's which do not generate jobs. Come on, those entrepreneurs who setup big companies like google, apple etc probably had their MTech degrees from the top most universities having high end research. Am talking about the MTech Degrees that every university down the road, offers. We see a Darshini hotel employing 10 youth in streets of Bangalore. The Darshini owner observes a real time requirement of breakfast at rush hour and opens one guessing a demand. While making money out of his good business, He did a national service by ensuring 10 youth got a job instead of getting into rowdyism or Naxalism. It would be good if every Darshini goes into organised sector, Govt policies must encourage that.

Country needs more and more entrepreneurs, who create jobs. We dont need socialists who demand reservation. A socialist in my book, is a virtue signalling hypocrite. He cant open a darshini, he cant open mobile manufacturing unit, he cant open a food processing unit or he cant even develop an APP like Ola for linking all the autos of bangalore. Practically he is weight on earth. The only thing he creates are 'theories' which seek to redistribute wealth by intellectualizing 'mediocrity'.

Socialists' insistence on governmental control through bureaucracy, for society's progress. leads to citizens' expecting government to solve his problems. Citizens must be groomed to think that problems in our life will be there, and how can i solve them independently, on my own.

During my stay at Kharagpur, My daily lunch was provided by a small time Gujrati caterer. He was affected a bit but he was not complaining abt demonitisation. He was just looking as to how to increase his business considering the suddenness of  Modi's decision. Only entrepreneurs seem to display that openness, to face challenges, ready to embrace new challenges in life. Every bugger who is attached to a union or govt job or PSU job is busy complaining about life.

So basically the point is, farmer's issues, concern for poor, etc are mere virtue signalling tools used by socialists. They can flatter their ego about it. While a guy like Ambani (i niether support him nor despise him) is actually generating jobs. Ability to face new challenges, taking responsibility of our life's progress, increasing our sphere of influence by our own value to the society can induce more progress than going around virtue signalling our 'concerns for poor' or how hinduism is under attack or how we must 'respect' farmers.

I repeat, The Centre-Right and Right folks of economics are busy creating oppurtunities. Socialists are busy creating theories of wealth redistribution.

Phew!

Harvard Tamil Chair (HTC)

A concerted attempt to alienate tamils from the mainstream Indian consciousness, is already in place. A ‘Chair’ like this at a reputed university only means “sharing the adhikaram'' with forces outside the tamizh nadu, to define what is “tamizh kalacharam”. The chair need not be occupied by a practicing Hindu or a Tamilian with the traditional Tiruvalluvar narrative of our kalacharam. Instead it will be chaired by a person who can be lobbied by various evangelical, secessionist forces without the knowledge of Tamizh makkal. Not many in TN understand this. There is chance that, a genuine Tamil Lover may chair it. The main problem is in sharing the ‘adhikaram’. Of course Harvard has every right to set it up. But we celebrating the sharing of Adhikaram to a white skinned country’s institution, is just inferiority complexion expressing itself. A university sets up a Chair to ultimately *'influence the cultural narrative'*. Harvard Chair's opinion on Tamizh Kal...
